My Trip to the Mediterranean

Cafe Paloma

Surrounded by the beauty and history of Pioneer Square, this Café is an apt end to a Saturday afternoon stroll in Seattle.

The walls were lined with striking photography by Daimian Lix. The bold photographs and warmth of the walls were fit with a baby grand, warm curtains and wine bottles providing the perfect opportunity for a great one-hour Mediterranean getaway. No travel agent necessary with such competitive lunch prices.

A menu decorated with a Shepherd Salad, paninis, pitas, a variety of soup and Borek is enough to delight the most finicky of eaters while satiating desires of the gastronomist.

My Mediterranean getaway included a Chicken Panini on toasted herbed foccacia. Pesto sauce, Portobello mushrooms and tomato wine sauce . . . mmm. Included was a tart vinaigrette on a house salad that was in destitute need for a bit more zest.

Regardless of the unimpressionable salad, Café Paloma has my vote.

It’s time to plan another vacation back.
